Letter from the President

"Wow, that must be really fun!"

Matt Miller
That’s what people often say when they find out what I do for a living. And they’re right. I am fortunate to be a third-generation family member at Playworld Systems, where we work for play and play for work.

My wife and I have three young children. We talk endlessly about our dreams for them. Like all parents, we want them to experience life’s most valuable lessons. This year, we have officially begun the activity shuffle, from school to sports and a variety of other activities. But we always remind each other that it’s important to find time to play with them on their terms. Play is the purest expression of individuality and the essence of freedom. Play is our children’s opportunity to set the stage and define the boundaries. They choose the beginning, middle, and end. Playgrounds are places where children learn to test their mental and physical limits, engage in the community around them, and open their imagination.

So while my work is “fun,” it is more than swinging and sliding. We don’t simply build playgrounds. We build training grounds for life.

At Playworld Systems, we believe the world needs play. And we look forward to working with your community in providing one of life’s most precious gifts. Play.
